Open signup forums...

I hope this won't be considered spam... But I for one am SERIOUSLY tired of seeing those threads at open signups forum with someone just copypasting some 100 different level 0 trackers straight from btracs.com... And also I would really appreciate a sticky (or a different forum) for low level invites only... So that the better open signups would stand out more, as now they're just plummeted down to page 2 with all those bumps of these spamlists from btracs saying "Thanks" or what not... And I've also seen the opensignups being used only for adding to ones post counts... Which I don't see as such a nice thing, as it bumps up useless threads even more, and spam is never nice...

To sum it up, add a sticky telling everyone to check for btracs.com instead of copypasting their own threads full of that list. Add a sticky/lowlevel open signups forum for the low level signups. And somehow control spamming (which I have NO idea how to do, and don't see any real idea how it would work, except for maybe adding a minimum reply lenght?)

Enough of my rants, tell me what you think? Would these make the forums any better? Let the flame begin ;)

i would have to agree with you Bagle. maybe set stickies for the most common low level trackers and people can go in and post when it opens. would hopefully get rid of unnecessary spam and such. good call buddy, +1.

That's a great idea! I support your initiative, Bagle! I think there should also be like a standard/pattern/layout for these open signup threads. Not "open, hurry up!" or something. The name of the tracker should definitely be included, if we'll settle on a single tracker per thread. In order to avoid flames whether who was quicker to post the news, if the tracker has already been marked and approved as open, there shouldn't be 5 more of the same kind.

Ye, I'd support that layout thing as well... For everything to be honest... IMO it is really annoying seeing those "HURRY HURRY PLÖX REP MEH NOW FST!!!!!111!1one!" :D And those multiple threads for the same signups get kind of stupid, just more spam, in an already spammy forum... sigh...

Yea, im tired seeing super low-level tracker open signups, or those that's already open..

Or at least sticky the worthy trackers!

Even.. make one thread each about the important trackers that do open their gates and another one, a sticky maybe which can include the low-leveled ones. If you missed some, you go back a page or two. instead of filling 2-3 pages of "thank you".
