Tracker reviews

I think we need a special section and some of us should start making some reviews. But our own reviews not copy paste from another forums. I am willing to make some for the trackers i have but i would like to get some support on this. Was thinking maybe on the screenshts we should add our forum label soit won't be stolen and posted elsewhere.

This also should be detailed reviews, with some guides on how to get invites, what to do and what not to do, best practices to increase ratio. Also a pattern should be made so that all reviews would look the same. Only some members should be allowed to make this stuff for keeping a clean and usefull review that should help people, not just lay here waiting to be spammed by noobs.

For ex on foreign trackers, some guides about how to change your account details (like ncore where i for one can't understand anything of what it's written).

Speeds needed to keep good ratio on the tracker, irc channels for each one and as much info as can be gathered for this.

As i said i volunteer for the job, maybe protojazz or someone else with photoshop skills (i have none) could add a label to the screenshots.

This should be posted on special section, where only good members (like 50 posts or more maybe) should have access.

So i'm waiting for staff opinion on how and if we should start doing this, and also for 1 or 2 members to help me with photoshop where needed and suppliers of screenshots for the trackers i do not have.

I say go for a special section in order to have special reviews and be a special forum so we can attract special people :) Or we could do it like every other forum but i think we need to step up and prove we have something special to offer. I say this would be a nice way.

Here's a pattern for reviews from another forum, we should discuss this and add to it according to our needs, i'm posting it just to make an idea of what we're talking about.

I will start working on a first review tonight, it will serve as a template and we should discuss everything tha's good and what's not good about it before we make another one. Everybody Ok with this?

yea i was thinkin bout getting a small group of members todo reviews and one or two to help aprrove. Also maybe to make things fun, the member with most approved reviews will get a S*T invite ;)

There is no need to make a contest out of this, the work should be pro bono only to prove the devotement of mebers for the forums, it should also keep the topic clean and maintain it's main purpose.
Also think that only staff should be able to judge this, as they won't be subjective to the person making review. Please don't make a contest out of this, let's give it a try to see who really cares for this place.

<< A free invite won't just be free anymore it will be turned into invite for work. It should be like "do good things for the community and the community will help you" not "you'll get paid for doing this". And if this won't be what you expected for free you can then offer an invite for someone to do it for you. Please let this one go free, see how it works out, and let some people prove themselves. >>

The reviewer team should be of only 2-3 people and 2-3 extra helpers (advanced torrent users with access to high levels and inside tracker info), this will avoid mixing ideas and keeping the pattern without arguing.

As i said, i will make a review later tonight (it's 20.30 in my country now) and after that we should start a brainstorm around that and get some new ideas and improvements. After that this first review will serve as a pattern for the rest.

With 2-3 people we can make up to 5 reviews/day meaning in a week or two we should cover the most important trackers. It won't be fast but it will be top quality, and as much as i see it it's worth it.

Yeah i do... in fact all this tracker chasing got me a new addiction... forums addiction. I enjoy it more than torrenting at this time :)
