With the new advent of terabyte and greater solid state hard-drives how long is it before our spinners are obsolete?

look the TB is really huge .. Even though I think it's overblown , if u have it :) wwoowww ..

I don't think that just because of the new bigger hard disks' collection people won't use the obsolete Hard disks ( like the 300-500 giga ) .

I hope the sooner the better although I will miss the sound of the platters of the old seagate..lol

I would give it a couple of years before they really become mainstream for desktop PCs. Technology should advance enough at that point to drive costs low enough to be somewhat competitive with your typical mechanical HD (albeit at a lower storage capacity).

It'll take a few years before SSD's are mainstream mainly due to their exorbitant prices as well as read / write speeds which are currently just on par with hard drives

Overblown! nahhh m8! Thats where it is now! Gb Hd are soon gonna be the thing of the past not too long from now (obsolete i tell you) :) Tb is gonna take over
