This little summary of information is for the noob who needs help building there ratio. This little summary was copied from a site fo mine all the credit goes to him but its such a good help that i thought it would help so many people on here!!
First thing some sites dont allow partial seeding as what this person calls chunky seeding, but read the rules and faqs on ur site and ull se if they do.
Second thing is the second topic of this summary is about downloading somewhere else and uploading somehwere else. When they say dont download and upload somewhere else, they mean dont be the seed that uploads one of there files on another tracker!! THATS A BIG NO NO!!
The second step is allowed on most trackers even TL, so i hope this little summary helps some people!
enjoy
A) CHUNKY SEEDING: The best "one man army" (i.e. it's you againt the world) way to seed. If you use one of the recommended BitTorrent Clients (AZUREUS or UTORRENT), once you open a new .torrent file you will see that a window appears with the files the release contains (commonly 15.000.000 kb compressed rar files). Ok, now look that you may check or uncheck some of these files. Your client will ONLY download the checked files, so if you just check only two/three of them, you can easily start seeding. Look for a game, app or movie heavily wanted and just download two or three files (in case of movies, they usually come with a preview moviefile so you can check their quality w/o having to download the entire movie... downloading just the preview is one of the best options here). This way you may download only 20-30mb and seed them continually for a good ratio (you download 20 mb but upload 200mb... a 10.0 RATIO for this torrent... cool!!). Of course, this cannot be done with all releases, though.
So, if you're a new user, you may realize that it's quite difficult to begin uploading at first, and some of you may go insane and want to download a lot within your first few days of being a new user. Here's a very helpful tip that helped me out a lot, and got me where I am today.
First, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT download a torrent from this site if you find it on one of your other torrent sites. If it's a scene release, it'll be named the exact same usually.
Download the torrent from your other site, and let it complete. Then find and download the same torrent on the site that u need ratio help on.
Next, when your client asks you where to save, choose the location of the files you just downloaded from your other site. This way, you'll be seeding what you downloaded from another site, but only making your ratio better by uploading here instead and saving yourself from downloading.
So, for instance if you downloaded a 700MB movie from someplace else, you'll be uploading your 700MB movie onto here, instead of spending 700MB of download ratio for a file that you can give back without taking.
Also, there are wait times for new torrents for new users. That gives Power Users a chance to seed it for you users so that you can get it quickly enough, and still be able to seed it as well. If there is a wait time, and you can find the torrent on another site, download it, and then just let it seed. That'll save you a 12-48 hour wait time, and you'll already have that much time spent on the torrent uploading.
If you do this, your ratio will become greater and greater until you're able to open up more slots, and then slowly, but surely, begin downloading from here and seeding. If you continue doing that, your ratio will become higher, and before you know it, you'll be a Power User, and that's when the most fun begins :)
