Just came across this on Filesharefreak (http://filesharefreak.com/2009/02/19/jdownloader-rapidshare-downloader-that-still-works/#more-2050).

The article states:
A reader recently emailed us asking if there was an application that could manage RapidShare downloads, without the use of Firefox add-ons and scripts. Well, with all of the recent modifications that RapidShare and other hosters have done to thwart easy (free) downloading, most external download managers simply no longer work as intended (or at all). That is, except for jDownloader. jdownloader (http://jdownloader.org/) is a continually-improved active project that supports links for over 100 different 1-click hosters. Downloading is a snap! Simply copy/paste DDL links into jDownloader, and let the program automatically punch through captchas & wait times - and the downloads begin. It even extracts the finished RAR files for you once the ’set’ is complete.

Not sure if anyone uses RapidShare, but if you do, this will come in handy.

That program is old and obsolete for rapidshare and basically for all uploading sites. There's no program in this world that can automatically insert captchas without user interaction. Trust me, I know because i download more than 3 gb per day on rapidshare on free user using whatever method I can to get by.

Rapidshare really isn't worth it if you don't have a Premium account.

i tested a lot of free programs and there is nothing that can beet the system.
The only way is to get a rs premium and thats rock but with the new daily limit of 2.66 gb is a little bit low for downloading movies and series so i prefer torrents now.
You are better giving your money a way to a seedbox maybe a bit more expensive but it is worth doing i think.

I have a premium account, Its active until november and i signed up before the new rules (daily 2.66 gbs)
applied. I downloaded tons before that and now I can barely finish downloading a complete movie. I will not be wasting any more time and money with rs due to this restriction.
I still cannot understand why they would do this to old accounts as well, their loss not mine.

I use flashget, and you can use a firefox addon called greasemonkey and go to userscripts to download a few helpful plugins.
