Which photo editing software do you use?

I like to take/edit photos and my program of choice at the minute is Adobe Photoshop CS4. What I would like to know is what is your photo editing app of choice?

It takes care of everything I've ever needed it for and more so I never bothered to upgrade, hehe.

Well it all depends on what type of editing I'm doing to what type of image. Sure, Adobe Photoshop CS4 can pretty much cover all my needs. But for those really quick edits or slight adjustments, I'd use other software. So my list would look a little something like this:

I primarily use Photoshop CS4 for both Mac and PC. On Windows Paint.NET is really good for quick edits. At one point, I uninstalled Photoshop tried using GIMP exclusively for a few months, and I think you can definitely achieve 90% of what you could do in Photoshop, but everything is a bit slower. I applaud the efforts of the GIMP devs for pushing it as far as it has come, but when time is money, Photoshop is the goto app.

Photoshop CS5(x64) currently. It's the only viable choice for actual editing honestly. Though lightroom does have it's place for quick edits as well.

I scanned the first few pages of posts and was surprised not to see Lightroom pop up, i'm glad the guy above mentioned it as i'm in love with this program. If you need to do anything more destructive then you need to use Photoshop (im using CS5.1)
but for basic editing and organisation the Lightroom is wonderfull
