View Full Version : need new dvd player/recorder recommendations?

well my dvd player recorder just crapped out on me so its time for a new one i want to be able to record tv shows then burn to a disk upload dvds then burn to a disk and play movies any recommendations on a new dvd player out that suite my standards but not empty my pockets? let me know much appreciated.

Sony makes a nice one, I got mine from Walmart for like 70 bucks. I forget the model, but it plays dvd+rw/dvd+r/dvd-rw/dvd-r, so that's all I cared about.

That's exactly what I thought. Get one that plays everything, so your dvdr's and xvid converts can play happily. Good brand is reccommended though, such as sony or philips ;)

i ended up getting the panasonic dvd recorder/player it converts dvds to 1080p and it records satellite and cable tv. im happy with it and it plays all formats data, divx, xvid all of thats stuff

it was on sell from 279 to 150 at fry's i recorded the ufc fight last night going to load it to my comp tomorrow

u should of got a samsung mine plays all dvd formats as well as divx,records right onto blank dvd-r discs, it also upscales up to 1080, hdmi connection of course best of all i only payed $80 lookem up online the model is dvd-r 155
