See here

Now times 29 by 116.
That about 3K accounts that should be pruned.
We should prune those with 5 or less posts.
(Not too hard to get 5 posts)

Also, we should prune higher post accounts that have not been logined since about 2008!

Sure, it's easy to get 5 posts, but some people, like me, are very slow posters. I`ve been a member since 2008, but I don`t want to post just for the sake of posting. Anyway, all I am saying is that it might be nice to some leeway for the slow!

Thanks very much

hey xdemi, I'm having trouble following the logic here.
- do you want to prune accounts for the sake of it?
- do you want to prune accounts in order to bring in more users?

I guess what im trying to say is that it would help if you said (why) you wanted to prune accounts.

....catch ya later

What about those that just signed up and only have 5 posts? There should be some sort of time involved too, not just number of posts.

The reason is that so more members can register...
But then, if they only just signed up, we should give them a bit of a chance (Announce it) or maybe only the members before a certain date. (Like February '09)

Yes I agree, my personal opinion is that if someone doesn't log in here in a month he should be notified via email that his account will be disabled in a week or so.

That's all I would do, and about the posts leave it be. There are people that constantly come here but don't have the need to post on everything.

Ok, the above idea sounds better.

personally, I think it's a bad idea. If you start saying that people will get banned unless they reach X numbers of post, people will start spamming. And if it's something I really hate, it's spamming!

Agree with antony about the time limit, could be like 2 months though. But the number of posts shouldn't make any difference in whether you get banned or not.
