This is the first seedbox I ever tried...that was about 6 months ago. In general terms, very good service, delivers exactly what you paid for, great service, easy payment via Paypal. That said, considering what is out there now, it might be a good starting point but find most will probably outgrow this service very quickly...as I did. I did keep it for several months while I searched for better.
SeedM8 utilises what I consider to be a very strange traffic control system they call RAQ's. You can read their explanation below.
A Resource Allocation Quota does excatly what it says; allows a certain amount of server resources per torrent. RAQs do not expire with the torrents, they are a monthly allocation, once a torrent does not require the RAQs you've used they can be used on others. Extra RAQs can be purchased as an addon to your basic package. Each standard RAQ has a 125 kB/s Upload Speed Cap and a 250 kB/s Download Speed Cap while the premium has a 260 kB/s Upload Speed Cap and a 520 kB/s Download Speed Cap.
Basically, here's what I bought. I took the Q plan at US$15 per month which gave me 12G of space, 6 active torrents, FTP, Web download, 300kBS torrent upload speed and 600 kBs torrent download speed. Keep in mind, those are the max values. What I did realise is that if you are downloading at 600kBs, the upload basically goes to zero while you run at max download. Not very practical honestly considering the speeds of other seedbox services out there these days. This plan was also with unlimited transfer volume...basically, you can download/upload as much as you can but are limited only by speed and hard drive space of the plan you bought, not traffic volume.
Again..I was very happy with the setup at the time, the Customer service was one of the best I've seen do far and I've tried 5 or 6 services since. I simply outgrew it very quickly and found other services much less restrictive. Upgrades are available but the costs for those upgrades are simply not competitive if you ask me.
To see pricing on their web site, select "unmetered plans" at the top, then "shared Q". Near the bottom of the page, select "order here" and then you will see the packages and pricing.
