TL Uploading question...

I'm a new user at TL and as most of you who start off there, it's tough to get those wait times eliminated within the first couple weeks.

My question is: When you have to suffer through the wait times, is it possible to get upload credit for those files if you've downloaded them elsewhere. I am aware that you can download the torrent file and seed regardless of the wait times, but does this count towards your upload credit?

You will get upload credit if the tracker allows you to seed the file. From my experience, and I use utorrent, you will get an error message in your utorrent client if the tracker does not let you attach to the file due to wait times.

So...if you do not see an error code, TL will let you seed and you will receive credit.

Cool. I have only received that error message with downloading...but nothing for the upload.

Good to know, especially when it's torrents like music packs / game packs. It can be relatively easy to get a copy of the same song / NDS game or something, and just partial seed it on a new torrent to boost those new-user-blues.

Yes it is possible at tl I have done it and it works fine for me at least it did a few months ago when I was trying it. But I am not sure if I was useing azerus or utorrent then

Ya, so I tried it last night and it definitely works.

In their FAQ however,it says something about the wait times not only being for downloading, but for seeding as well.

I guess its a rule they don't enforce or I read it wrong.
