Geforce 9600 GT 1GB vs Geforce 9800 GT 512MB

I don't know whether this is the right section to post this thread.


I am planning to buy a new Graphics Card. I don't know much about the graphic cards.


Please help me to select a card form the below

1. Geforce 9600 GT 1GB
2. Geforce 9800 GT 512MB


I only have the choice to select one from the above mentioned cards.
So please help me to select a better one form the above two.

Please post your opinions.

They r both DDR3 (in some versions) But still I think 9800... because the memory is not so important... :D

I have the 9800 and it works great. The extra memory won't help you very much unless the rest of your computer is very slow.

I have to say that your choice is pretty weak. From the two mentioned in the topic, I would easily pick the 9800GT 512.

Are you able to pick anything else?

Larger memory is better, but in your case you are comparing 2 really different cards, form the specs I can clearly tell that the 9800 is much better.

But if I were you I would go with ATI's 4770, killer card in that price range if I'm not wrong.. If you plan gaming on high resolutions just take a look at this staggering 50% gain in some cases against 9800GT >

9800 is the way faster than 9600, 1GB is needed for high res like 19x12, but 9600's won't handle it cus of much slower core
