A little something that I picked up. I have done this and I see that it works, with no problems. A tip: Instead if hitting "n" as suggested just copy and paste items A-C and it will take you right to it, no scrolling or searching required.

Step 1:
Open FireFox and in the address bar type "about:config" and hit enter (of course, don't use the ""). Now you will see a huge list of items.

Step 2:
You can either scroll down to the n's or just hit "n" on your keyboard and you should be taken to the first listed "n" item. Look for these three items:
a) network.http.pipelining
b) network.http.proxy.pipelining
c) network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Step 3:
a) Set "network.http.pipelining" to True instead of False. You can do this by having it highlighted and hitting "Enter" on your keyboard.

b) Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to a number between 1 and 8, preferably 8. This will make the number you chose of requests at once instead of the default 4.

c) Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to True instead of False. You can do this also by having it highlighted and hitting "Enter" on your keyboard.

Step 4
YOU ARE DONE! Just start browsing and you'll see the difference! Send your cash only contributions to show your appreciation to the SpecialK Trust Fund @ myemail.com

Doesn't work on dial up from what I hear.

Here's another lil something to make your Firefox work faster if you're running Windows:

http://www1.plala.or.jp/tete009/en-US/software.html

These contain builds optimized for your processor. Currently, I'm running the PGO 2.0.0.12 build, and it's really faster.

Enjoy!

The steps in 3 are not meant to be in any particular order, sorry if this confused you.

EDIT: NO, I use Firefox 2 and I believe you are right, that this must be for some other add-on because I do not have that feature either. How about some feedback so that others may see that the steps that you can do are effective. I will remove the "browser.turbo.enabled" instruction from the tutorial.
