It has come to our attention that with an update to the latest version of µtorrent (1.7.7) by default there are several options turned on that absolutely must be turned off. DHT (distributed hash tables) and Peer Exchange, as well as Local Peer Discovery are features in µtorrent that allow you to connect to peers that are not part of the tracker. Failure to turn these options will cause µtorrent to misreport data to the tracker. This is not only a security risk, it is also a bannable offence as your client will report more data uploaded and less data downloaded from the tracker, thus falsely increasing your ratio. Also, if you are seeding to peers from outside the tracker, you won't be able to seed to SCC members as quickly as possible. Please disable these features as soon as possible.
Failure to turn these options off may result in your account being auto disabled due to our anti-cheat system!!!"

So apparently, we all only download from our sceneaccess accounts if we have them. This goes against the idea of p2p and bittorrent downloading communities as it keeps downloading segregated between groups. Either you have to use two torrent clients or mess with settings whenever you download from sceneaccess. I think SCC make too many demands of their users, as their site isnt that great and the mentality of the administrators to ban without warning is appalling. I may be joining the ban scc club in the near future....

Most private sites don't allow DHT on, for all the same reasons SCC stated. If you don't wanna be a part of private trackers, then stick to mininova, it's that simple.

yes i may report less download, cause your are also downloading through peer exchange etc..

But it cannot report more more upload..This is simply not possible and has nothing to do with DHT, Peer Exchange or Peer Discovery..At least this is what i can say with the knowledge i have right know.

if there is someone who believes the opposite please let me know and explaine:)

they will ban u on some sites and some will just give u a warning for having ur dht turned on. But most people know that u should never have ur dht turned on anyway..These sites arent Mininova like Wised said.

FrankLucasFan said about mininova:)

btw.i think that its not that obvious for a tracker to see if you are using DHT, unless you dl the whole torrent from them only..

A lot of private trackers will turn off DHT on the individual torrent itself... If you want to keep it on for some reason, just turn it off on each individual torrent as needed.

Good notification to those who are unaware about this. But it is little harsh to ban them..

I don't understand how if the torrent is marked as private (DHT and Peer eXchange disabled), your client will not obey that.
If it really is a bug, so there should be bugfix from utorrent devellopers.

Uh... That's why you're supposed to read the rules before using the tracker....

I may be wrong, but I think in order to even use DHT in Azureus, you have to install a plugin that comes separate from Azureus...
