welll, they say it's a thread to their servers' provider. So i think if they change the location of their servers to a location that is less cooperative with authorities, they might be able to come back.. but who knows.

Demonoid really has (had) the most amazing quantity of contents...

Really sad news.

:x I just got my invite and account for this truly superb site and I was able to use it once and now they're down!! I am unsure as to why the controllers of this site seem to be so passive in their attempt to fight for what is a basic quest for sustainment of the (creators of the site) right to a quality of life. I understand that legal issues may be complicated, and expensive however there are enough people from what I've read to begin a petition or some sort of responsive class act in protection of the site or is there? I am verrrrry sorry to see it down and do hope for a swift return.

I believe, in a respect to general torrent tracker histories, that a blow like this will most likely not be something Demonoid will recover from lightly. Even if they do find a cooperative company we still don't know if their prior hosting would release their files to the Demonoid team. This being only if they keep on trying to bring the site back up, some find it hard to put a price on their own head for a community of 'strangers'. Even if it is resurrected, the quality of the site will be severely diminished for a long time, possibly forever, and as it stands, that's probably a big 'if'. All that said, if you were a member of their community, and still wish to contribute your files and input to the torrent community, I suggest at this time putting them on more general trackers till another site rises to an equal standard, or your efforts could most definitely go unnoticed. There have been many major well know torrent sites over the years, and one by one they have rose and fell, It's always going to be that way, this is just another blow to the torrent community, but we seem to find ways to adapt, ever so slowly.
But for now,
R.I.P. Demonoid, you've done well
