The time has come to name your team for this Summer's World Cup tournament and picking your all conquering line-up couldn't be simpler:

TEAM SELECTION

TO START WITH YOU CAN ONLY CHOOSE 2 PLAYERS FROM A COUNTRY THOUGH THIS CHANGES AS THE WORLD CUP PROGRESSES


* Once you've registered - it's free - you'll be taken to the Team Selection page.

* Study the Player List to decide which players you want to name in your team.

* Search by name, sort by position or use the drop down list to find the players you think will take you to glory. Simply click on the player to add him to your team sheet.

* You must pick 11 players and can choose from every player featuring in the tournament.

* At the start of the tournament you can pick up to two players from any one nation, but this increases as the tournament develops.

* The players are split into goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards and you can choose one of three formations:

4-3-3 - Four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards

4-4-2 - Four defenders, four midfielders and two forwards

5-3-2 - Five defenders, three midfielders and two forwards

The Basics

Want to pick your World XI right away?

Have a quick look at these game rules before you get started.

Team Selection


* Pick 11 players using either a 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 formation.

* There is no budget.

* In the Group Stages you can pick two players per nation.

* The number of players you can select per nation increases during the tournament.

Transfers



* Before the tournament begins you can make unlimited changes.

* Once the tournament has started you can make a total of 30 transfers.

* You are restricted to 15 transfers in each Game Period.


Points Scoring


* All players score points for goals and assists.

* Goalkeepers and defenders earn points for clean sheets, but lose points for goals conceded.

* The game has been split into two Game Periods.

* There are also points available for the Man of the Match, but players will lose points if they get booked or sent off.

* Points are worth double in the knockout stages.



Game Periods

To keep the rivalry and drama going throughout the World Cup, and to give you more chances to win, we’ve split the game into two Game Periods.

You can make up to 15 transfers in a Game Period (as long as you have some transfers left of course!) and the number of players per nation available to pick for your team (see the table below) will increase as the tournament progresses.

Scoring Points


Your team will score points based upon how your chosen players perform in 2010 World Cup matches. Points are awarded to players in the following ways:

Group Stage Points Details
All Players:
Anytime Appearance +1 Awarded for being involved in the match.
Goal +4
Assist +3
Man of the Match +3 Awarded to the Skysports.com Man of the Match. This may differ from the televised Man of the Match.
Yellow card -1
Red card -2 Includes -1 for a yellow card.

Goalkeepers/Defenders Only:

Defensive Game Played +1 Awarded for playing 45 mins or more, in addition to the Anytime Appearance point.
Goalkeeper/Defender Clean Sheet +4 Must play 75 mins, inc. 1 pt for 45 min appearance.

In the knockout stages points, both positive and negative, are doubled and will be given if matches go into extra time.

Had enough of your midfield maestro's ego? Has injury robbed you of your inspirational forward? Or have you simply found a better defender to marshall your back four?

If you want to make changes to your team then you're going to have use a transfer:

* Before the first game of the tournament, you can make unlimited changes to your team, meaning you can fine tune your selection right up to the big kick-off.

* Once the tournament has begun you will receive 30 transfers to use during the tournament.

* You can use a maximum of 15 transfers in a Game Period and there are two Game Periods so be careful not to use all your transfers before the final.

I finished 24th. I could have been a bit higher cause I hardly used any transfers in the first period which wasn't really smart.
I wouldn't use feedback as a prize cause that not what it's for. Maybe upload credits and a title or so.

i finished 18th, & never able to go beyond 12th rank.. the competetion with the members at top was real hard. i regret losing my transfers in first period :(
