the eee pc is only 300 bucks at most online stores, its very small 7 inches, and has a 2gb ( or 4) ssd so no moving parts and 3 hours battery life.... will pc's get any smaller than this without turning in to a phone? lol

Xandros
Yuck...
Distrowatch has the Specs on the EEE version:

Personally I'd rather have XP installed...
I'm a Linux geek, but I don't use it anymore, and when I play with it, I just run it under Vmware Workstation.
Eee is suppose to also come with XP Home.

you could always install your own os off a usb thumbdrive, that would have to be an option with these types of machines. me myself though, am sticking with my dv9650us w/ vista x64 :D

The dv9650us is a regular laptop, the eee isn't, you can't compare the two, hehe...

My friend just bought an EEE. It's a very good and handy laptop. I recommend it if you're on budget and want only the basic function of a laptop.
