please, look at this speedtest and tell me:
should i sue my isp for that upload?
i think that the download is nice for what i pay for it, but let me read your opinions about the other side of this coin.

u did not tell us what is suppose to be..
If it's all that's available where you live, you're probably stuck with it.
But yes, sue them. Call lots of surprise witnesses, and make sure you cry for the judge.

if you sue, what possible losses could you claim?

What sort of connection are we talking about here?
Cable, DSL, ISDN???

its a normal cable connection.
and in the advertisements, they just sell the download, nobody cares about upload here in chile.
and if i sue, i would probably loose. vtr is a big fish in latin america.
but; there is a tecno-political group that fights for neutrality and for broadband standards... but they cant do anything really...
so, i'm stuck. i'm getting warned in a lot of pvt trackers because i CANT seed.

If an ISP is also a datacenter with commercial web servers, their bottleneck is usually the outbound bandwidth (as the webservers are feeding data to people surfing the web). They have a surplus of download bandwidth which is why they can sell you higher speeds for DL than UL. In any event, this is a pretty ridiculous spread.....unless you were doing some massive seeding when you ran the test.

Looks like you have possibly a 2MB line with a slow upload...
Can you ask them to tell how how many megabyte your line is?
Well go after them only if it's worth it, and you think it will help to make things better in your country. No ISP should be ripping people off, no matter where they are...

i'm confused about the line, because every year they duplicate the download to "close the digital breach in chile" but the upload stays pretty much the same. i contracted two years ago a 600kbps and since then it hasn't changed it's price.
check it here http://vtr.com/productos/src/home/internet/banda_600.php
if the page asks for region, just give any data, its for the prices.

you can't sue, that's what your line speed is.
your only options are to change companies until that company expands it's bandwith capabilities so it can offer a higher upload speed

yes, i've been doing some research about the new digital communications law being processed. it may take some time.

unfortunately for you most agreement clauses say that they do not guarantee speeds and they may vary so even if you wanted to you probably couldn't

if you are very lucky you have another isp available, i have about double your speed down but even less up, for now I'm stuck with it.
You got no chance in hell with suing them unless you have a specific clause in your contract specifying higher speeds.
but i'd be very surprised if you did and not know about it.
