Actually I heard people download all their stuff on something they call bittorrent ;-)

LooL. It really is hard not to laugh. :) Although now that i think of.. first when iwas reading about "scene FTP " i thought it's something like a secret ftp channel where things come right from the WB studio. :p Then i read, and i read, and it became more clear to me. I suggest u do the same man. ;)

he has a certain point off course, ftp rings exists, but usually require a lot more social engineering and money to get into then bittorrent, for not always so much more value.
ease of use is a lot higher though.

Yes, defiantly read up! I would worry more about torrents at this point then trying to move on to anything else.

guys what he's talkin bout is actual scene axx which is where all releases from the BitTorrent world come from. The problem here is that P2P and Scene don't Mix and the odds of you getting in are probably none. You don't have to pay for scene only requires to be a racer. Only time you pay is when you get leech axx off a scene dump. And yea all is run thru FTP & Mirc. Consider this a lvl 100 if comparing with torrent sites ;)

So in other words give up this dream.

Actually yeah- most of the groups don't want to mix FTP and BT. But still every good release gets uploaded on scene sites very fast. Everybody can make his FTP channel, or MIRC channel. But to get axx to scene FTP is totally different story. Even on the top scene sites there are ppl that don't deserve to be there.. about 10-20% are lurkers. But on FTP.. everybody knows everybody so unless you know a group-related dude.. you have no chance. ;)
